2Pac undoubtedly managed to give an incredible lot to the music scene, leaving a plethora of hit songs for many generations to enjoy. The topics he would rap about also presented the black community at the time with the hope of a better present and a more fruitful future. More than 25 years after his death, Pac is set to receive yet another posthumous reward for his talent and commitment to fight against social injustice.
The representatives of The Hollywood Walk Of Fame announced that Shakur’s name will be ingrained on the famous street, alongside names of over 2700 artists and musicians. The ceremony will go through on Wednesday, the 7th of June from 10:30 AM and will be streamed live exclusively at walkofffame.com so all Tupac faithful will certainly be around to witness the historical moment. The star will be allocated in the Recording category.
The unveiling of the star will be honored by film producer Allen Hughes, who is the man behind the tv series “Dear Mama: The Saga of Tupac and Afeni Shakur”, which is currently being broadcasted and is attracting lots of attention over the last few weeks. The other guest speaker will be Jamal Joseph, Sekiywa Shakur, Pac’s sister, will be the one to receive the star on behalf of the rap legend.
The annotation includes some of Tupac’s greatest-ever musical hits, as well as the number of records sold worldwide and his introduction in 2017 into the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame. Last but not least, Pac’s career as an actor also receives a shout.
Shakur’s legacy can hardly be matched by many other rappers in history and the impact his tracks had on the industry and society as a whole speak volumes of his genius. It’s hard to imagine just how much of an anticipated moment this will be for all Pac lovers.
