One Day At A Time - Spice 1, 2Pac, LP, Headstrong (1996)
"One Day at a Time" is a 1996 2Pac song, produced by Hen Gee. According to the interview Hen Gee did for 2Pac Forum, the original was a solo 2Pac one verse song, recorded 2 weeks before he passed. Hen Gee also said it was recorded during the filming of Gridlock'd (2Pac was filming Gang Related at the time) but it's a mistake these industry guys often make (mix Above the Rim/Bullet, Gridlock'd/Gang Related).
According to Hen Gee, the song was recorded at Ice T's house.
So the original is an unfinished solo one verse song, similar to "Baby Don't Cry" and "Catchin Feelins" and probably wasn't even mixed.
Between 1997 and 1999 Spice 1 and LP recorded their verses over the original beat with a hook by Chris from Headstrong and that version was released on a 1999 Curtis Mayfield compilation and later on Spice 1's 2004 album Ridah, titled "U Gotta Take It".
Eminem remixed the song in 2003 for the Resurrection soundtrack and it was released as a promo single, featuring Eminem and Young Noble.
